Russian Church hopes Moscow authorities will ban gay parade / 27th april 2011

Moscow – Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, the head of the Synodal Department for Church and Society Relations, said the Moscow authorities will hopefully not allow homosexuals to hold a gay parade in Moscow.

„I hope the Moscow authorities will, as previously, stand firm in relation to a propaganda action, being organized by supporters of sexual perversion and ban this action,” Father Vsevolod told Interfax-Religion on Wednesday.

„The question must be raised squarely after all. If international law envisions curbs on certain rights for moral considerations, all political decisions must take into account that the moral standards of our people reject the propaganda of homosexuality. This fact must be decisive in the formation of politics and law,” he said.

If international law must be changed for that, then it must be changed,” Father Vsevolod said.

„No state that respects itself or deserves respect will allow itself to go against the will of its people an give preference to other factors,” he said.

Representatives of sexual minorities plan to hold a gay parade on Moscow’s Bolotnaya Square on May 28. The organizer, Nikolay Alexeyev, claimed the city authorities have given their nod to the action for the first time. Meanwhile, a source in the city’s regional security department told Interfax on Tuesday that „they have not been granted a permit, and will hardly get one.”

Activist says Moscow authorities authorized gay rally / 26th april 2011

Moscow – Moscow gay pride parade organizer Nikolay Alexeyev says the Moscow authorities have for the first time authorized a gay rally in Moscow’s Bolotnaya Square.

„The Moscow government told the Moscow gay pride parade organizers on Tuesday that the Moscow authorities have authorized a gay pride parade in Moscow„, Alexeyev said in a statement released in Moscow.

The organizers notified the Moscow government and the Moscow traffic police of their intention to hold a gay pride parade on April 12, he said.

The rally entitled „Moscow Gay Pride Parade: Homosexuality in the History of World Culture and Civilization” will take place on May 28, Alexeyev said.

The Moscow authorities have suggested reducing number of the rally participants to 500, which was done, he said.

„The purpose of the rally will be to provide society with objective information on the history of the attitude towards homosexuality in culture and science, on the contribution made by prominent gay people to culture and art, and role of prominent culture figures and artists in the protection of the lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transsexuals,” Alexeyev said.

The Moscow authorities have not authorized such rallies since 2006 and any attempts to hold a gay pride parade in Moscow have been curbed by the police.

Gay pride parades were banned by the Moscow administration under Yury Luzhkov” Alexeyev said.

Patriarhul Kirill considera hirotonia femeilor drept o inselaciune periculoasa

Patriarhul Kirill considera hirotonia femeilor drept o inselaciune periculoasa

Conform spuselor patriarhului, Biserica crestina tot timpul a venerat taina mamei, cinstind mereu nasterea. „Biserica tot timpul a incurajat si intarit femeia” – a spus Patriarhul kirill.

„Viata nu a fost niciodata simpla in Rusia si toata experienta istorica terifianta a secolului 20 a afectat in principal femeia”, a continuat Patriarhul.

„Cu toate acestea, slabita de natura, femeia a aparut puternica sufleteste si a reusit sa-si pastreze credinta” – a spus Primatul Bisericii Ortodoxe Ruse.

Conform lui, femeile s-au dovedit a fi mai puternice in lupta impotriva viciilor sociale, precum alcoolismul si consumului de droguri; multumita lor, sanatatea societatii in general este pastrata.

Patriarch Kirill considers female ordination

a dangerous deception

Moscow, April 7, Interfax – Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia considers female ordination widely spread in some Western Protestant Churches a dangerous deception.

„Dangerous deception in striving for equal rights resulted in claims of a special position for woman in the Church and for demands of female ordination,” Patriarch Kirill has said on Tuesday in his sermon in the Dormition Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin.

He noted it was not by chance that such demand originated from those Western Christian communities who „don’t venerate the Holy Virgin.”

According to the Patriarch, Christian Church has always venerated the sacrament of maternity, has always respected female labor. „The Church has always supported and strengthened woman,” Patriarch Kirill said.

Life had never been simple in Russia and all horrific historic trials of the 20th century mostly affected women, the Patriarch went on to say.

„However, weak by nature, women appeared to be stronger in their spirit and managed to keep the faith,” the Primate of the Russian Church said.

According to him, women turned out to be stronger in fighting against such social vices as alcoholism and drug abuse, thanks to them, health of society in general is preserved.
